How to make your own spray mists from acrylic paint....

Over the past number of months I've tried to make my own color and glimmer mists using acrylic paint or hobby paint.

To my disappointment I've had to throw out quite a few mist bottles because the nosell clogged up.

I've been using alcohol to dilute as well as water. I know a lot of people swear by using alcohol, but to my humble experience having used both alcohol based mists and water miste on projects at the same time the results haven't been as good as if I only used alcohol or water solely.

Wanting to experiment on how to avoid clogging up the nosell I've found a solution that works great... by accident I filled my mist bottle with hot water, then added the paint, a glass bead went in there too closed it and gave it a good shake. The hot water dilutes the paint so much easier than when using cold and the bead is just an extra help. 

After the good shake I added Perfect Pearl and shaked it once more..... 😃

I now have the most amazing color- and glimmer mists at the fraction of the price of the original ones.

I have been using 2 oz bottles.

I have got a job.... after 13 months of unemployment I'm back in the game...So happy!

It means not feeling bad for spending time at my craft table thinking I should write job applications instead.

A huge load has been removed from my shoulders.... I am so blessed.

Organza flowers - tutorial will follow

In my search on how to create easy and inexpensive flowers for my creations I was browsing through YouTube.

There are a lot of tutorials where you need a lit candle and a bucket of water... Just in case.

Now... I happen to know the combo of me and fire....not good!! 

Then I thought.... Why not try using my heat gun.....??

Album for a honeymoon - gift

Attented a wedding yesterday. A union of two beautiful young people such a wonderful occasion to witness. Love is grand.

As a part of their gift I created a 6 x 6 album for their honeymoon pictures. I used the Bo Bunny Weekend Market papers. There are 8 pages in the album with room for a lot of journaling and pictures.

I was so lucky to emphasize one of the colors of the wedding in the flowers on the cover: Turquoise.

It was so fun to make and I'll soon make one for my self:-)

Finally I could use some of my beautiful Ladies Diary papers from Graphic 45. From a tutorial by Miranda Edney on YT.

I am so pleased how it turned out... and I had a lot of fun making it...

Three heart shaped boxes - my last project for a while....

A dear friend of mine gave me these three boxes right before Christmas. They were plain veneer. Perfect to try out the crackle technique I've seen on YT. This only goes for the burnt umber and green boxes. First I painted them white with Gesso on the entire outside. Left them to dry entirely. Then I painted the top and bottom with a good layer of white school glue. After about 5 min. I painted on top of the glue with the color I wanted. After it was completely dried it showed the most amazing crackles in the paint.... I am so satisfied with the results:-).

The reddish one I also painted with Gesso and then sprayed it with various glimmer mists and mists both store bought and home made. My first time trying the drip effect. Must say though using this technique painting over with Mod Podge to protect the surfaces is not a good idea is smudges out the spray colors. How ever a spray varnish would do.

Mod Podge or other types of varnish works great on the crackle paint after it is completely dried.

My reason for shutting down my craft room, is the need for a 100% focus on applying for jobs. Please pray for me that I will find one soon. Thank you❤️ Wishing you all a happy New Year. Hugs Lene

Three mini albums - custom order

My latest creations... One might say... Well Lene, where is the third? At present it is drying:-) I just couldn't wait to upload.

This album I've used Prima paper Wisper Collection and a sheet of a Bo Bunny from my stash. Unfortunately I cut off the information strip...

For embellishment I have a homemade fabric rose and some seam binding that I dyed myself. And a string of peach pearl string from msgardengrove1's Etsy store.

The third album is now ready to view:-)

For this album I used papers from 7Gypsies. Absolutely stunning papers. Embellishment I punched some leaves using the small leaves from Tim Holtz Movers & Shapers inked them up and embossed with UTE. The big rose is Prima and the two other roses are from Wild Orchid Craft 2,5 cm.

A pearl string from my stash and a frame also from a Tim Holtz die.

Jeg fik solgt en del julekort, det lille lyseblå album og blonder. Derudovre fik jeg tre bestillinger på lignende album som det lyseblå.

Et fantastisk feed back var, at billeder ikke yder mine kreationer retfærdighed, de er meget flottere i virkeligheden... Det blev jeg super glad for at høre.
